The Australian Care Alliance has published an incisive commentary by Professor David Kissane on the My Life, My Choice report which recommended legalising euthanasia and assisted suicide in Western Australia.
The Hon Nick Goiran MLC, who was on the Committee which produced that report and was the only member to attend all its hearings, issued a comprehensive minority report titled " The Safe Approach to End of Life Choices: License to Care Not Licence to Kill".
The commentary from Professor Kissane and the minority report from the on Nick Goiran both point to the impossibility of effective safeguards for any euthanasia or assisted suicide law and the unavoidability of wrongful deaths.
